Service Provider

Recognising the significant impact that the lengthy lockdowns and related restrictions have had on businesses in Auckland, the government set up a special support package in October 2021 to help Auckland businesses get back on their feet and become more resilient going forward.

This support is being administered via a programme called Activate Tāmaki Makaurau.

Auckland businesses can apply for up to $3000 +GST worth of Business Advice support, and up to $4,000 +GST for an Implementation Grant.

These services are delivered through service providers (like iBeFound Digital Marketing) who have registered with Activate Tāmaki Makaurau.

Only Auckland businesses who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for funding for Business Advice and Implementation Grants:

• be operating with 100 full time equivalent employees or less
• be GST registered in New Zealand
• have a New Zealand Business Number (NZBN)
• be operating in a commercial environment
• be a privately-owned business or are a Māori Trust or incorporation under the Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 or similar organisation managing Māori assets under multiple ownership
• primarily operate within the Auckland Alert Level 3 boundary
• be an existing business that is trading prior to 22 October 2021

Please be advised that funding is limited and not guaranteed until your business has successfully registered on the Activate Tāmaki Makaurau portal, requested a proposal/quote from a service provider, and had your funding application approved via email.

There is currently more funding for Implementation Grants than for Business Advice.

If you already know what your business needs, then we highly recommend that you go straight for the Implementation Grant ($4,000 +GST).

If you don't yet have a website or you have a website which needs upgrading, then let's focus on your website. If you have a website but it's not performing well in search, then let's improve its ranking with SEO. In these scenarios, the Implementation Grant is what you should apply for.

If, on the other hand, you're not sure what your digital marketing needs are and you want help figuring that out, then start with funding for Business Advice ($3,000 +GST). Once you have a strategy figured out, then you can apply for the Implementation Grant ($4,000 +GST).

Here are the general steps in this process:

1. You register for Business Advice or Implementation Grant.
2. Your registration is assessed by Activate Tāmaki Makaurau.
3. A referral plan is created for you by Activate Tāmaki Makaurau.
4. You log into the portal and request a proposal from your preferred service provider. Your selected service provider submits a proposal via the portal for you to review. Within the portal, you accept the proposal and submit application for funding.
5. Your funding application is assessed. If approved, a contract is automatically generated to be signed by both parties. Then you can get started with your service provider.
6. Once work is completed, you update your project in the portal and complete a feedback survey. Your service provider submits a completion report and invoice to Activate Tāmaki Makaurau.

3. For the question, "Which area of support would you like to apply for first?", choose Implementation Grant, and select Implementation of Digital Marketing Plan.
4. For the question, "Do you have a specific service provider that you would like to work with on Implementation?", choose YES.
5. For the question, "What is the name of the service provider?", enter our name, iBeFound Digital Marketing.
6. For the question, "How will this service benefit your business?", provide a brief explanation of the issue and how implementation support would help. For example, "Our website is not doing well in search results and we need SEO help to improve it."
7. Answer the remaining questions and submit the form.

4. For the question, "Do you have a specific service provider that you would like to receive Business Advice from?", choose YES.

6. For the question, "How will this service benefit your business?", provide a brief explanation of the issue and how getting business advice would help. For example, "We've had a website for a few years but it's not performing well. We need help to determine what the problem is and what needs to be done to get it to work well for us."
7. Answer the remaining questions and submit the form.
